THE BELAKU TRUST
Dedicated to Community Health Research & Action

DOCUMENTATION AND COMMUNICATION
We have
acquired
considerable information on social and development issues from our formal
research as well as
through
our
interactions
with the community. We collect and use existing health awareness
materials
and
training aids, and have created additional material where we felt the need
for it. These are made available to development agencies, trainers,
students, researchers and activists. Examples are:
A training video and manual on infant care and feeding, in Kannada and English, with support from UNICEF. This is being used to improve infant care practices in the community and to share information with other groups.
A series of discussions of health issues, with an emphasis on women’s and children’s health, which is constantly updated.
A collection of teaching aids for health related topics, for use with all ages.
We also assisted the British Council with their production of a film on Safe Motherhood for the Commonwealth Health Ministers’ meeting.
